Electronic Graphs

Today I Constructed a bar graph using a google spread sheet. Firstly I entered my data in the first two columns. I then highlighted the information and chose the graph. We then entered the Title and another small heading on the left.

Triangle Angles Investigation

This morning in maths we investigated the angles of triangles angles of triangles.

Firstly we had drawn an equilateral triangle onto a piece of paper, from their we then cut the triangle out and and tore the three corners of the triangle. We put the three corners next to each other on an imaginary straight line. We know that a straight line is 180 degrees. We then repeated what we had already done except we used an isosceles angle.

Persuasive Reading Analysis: Best Advertisement Ever

We are learning to identify the strategies used by the writers to persuade their viewer audience .

Persuasive strategy	Yes / No	How the author used it?
Claim – States the main   point or stance	Yes	I believe the purpose of the advertisement is to make the audience think about the small or big things they can do to make another person's life happier or change the world around them.
Big Names –  Mentions experts and important people to support the argument	No
Ethos – Tries to build trust and credibility	Yes	Six actors support the the message being given to the audience in this clip. Every day the main character visits these people/animals. The audience sees that through the man's generosity, kindness and compassion the lives of those he visits had changed in a good way.
Pathos – Appeals to the audience’s emotions	Yes	The advert makes the audience feel many emotions in different parts of the advert. The music that is played throughout the clip enhances the ad and it brings out the audience's emotions more.
Logos – Uses logic, numbers, or  facts to support the argument	Yes	The clip shows facts that their are poor people living on the streets that you can help.
Kairos – Builds a sense of urgency  for the cause	Yes	The audience is given a sense of urgency by the actions of the man who does all the good things for the people. It makes you want to be like him and help the people in the community.
Research – Uses studies and   information to make the   argument seem more convincing;  this can be in the form of words, graphs, tables, or illustrations.

Reading Helps You learn You learn new words that you can use to improve your own work/exams. For future jobs you need to know how to read You don’t learn to read you read to learn

Knowing how to read is the one of the most extremely important things to know in the whole entire world. How do you think world leaders like Barack Obama, Martin Luther King etc, became famous people. They had to know how to read to know how to to do there jobs properly. If I didn’t know how to read I would not be able to write this persuasive writing to convince you that reading is important.

Reason one of why reading is important, reading helps you gain knowledge and knowledge is very important in today's world (knowledge about weather, traffic etc.). You learn a variety of words that can expand your vocabulary which will help improve your grades in english and other subjects. It will also help improve your own personal job/work whether it be an author, journalist, businessman or newspaper writer.

My second reason why, is because you can experience different things/emotions, for example if you're reading an action book and it starts getting really interesting (fighting, explosions,)  you feel thrilled and possibly (if it is extremely interesting) you start to feel the adrenaline that the characters are feeling. If you're reading a story about love (romeo and juliet etc.) you feel sadness and other emotions alike. There are also comedy books that can be quite amusing. When you read comedy stories they make you laugh and cheer you up.

My third reason is looking at theft, documents and contracts. If you sign a contract for a dodgy person without reading and understanding what you are reading, you could be signing away your life or life’s money away. Then you would not have enough money to pay bills, mortgage,debts and in the worst case scenarios you might end up living on the streets.

No matter what situation you're in, language you speak, hieroglyphics your decoding or music notes your learning/teaching you will still have to know how read (unless you're Illiterate). You can also gain wisdom (from the Bible etc.) that you can pass down to generation to generation. Therefore reading is one of the most extremely important things in the world second to maths.

Our teacher also tells us this from time to time, you don’t learn to read you read to learn.
