PMI Chart about Archibald Baxter

We are learning to compare contrast key ideas about the story Archibald Baxter.
Archibald Baxter is a conscientious objector who disagrees with war. He disagrees with war because he heard the mayor and a lawyer conversing about not going to war. What they said changed his life and what he thought about of war. Archibald was a very good marksman and boxer. When the government wanted him to go to war but he refused and convinced several others including his brothers not to go to war as well. When the government introduced military conscription he still refused but they kidnapped them and took them to the military bases overseas. They tortured them in many ways but he survived throughout the torture and war then returned home. He got married and had two children. One of their children became a conscientious objector in WWII and the other became a famous New Zealand poet.

The Rainbow Dove

My name is Matthew and I am in room 2, today we visited room 8 because our teacher Sister Evalesi was not going to be here. In room 8 me and my class mates coloured our own dove each for Pentecost. Some one helped me create a blog post on their blog and posted it I called my dove the rainbow dove. This is the picture of me and my dove.

Saint Patrick's ANZAC Commeration

On the 24th of April 2015 our school commemorated those that died and survived WW1.  The commemoration was being held just outside of the Teacher Staff Room. As It began students from room 8 and  7 got up with our Principal Mrs Bullot from where they were sitting to say a few words in front of the school. Mrs Bullot started of with the sign of the cross she then said a prayer for the ANZAC Troops. When our Principal The students that were representing our class started. They were talking about things that represent and commemorate the fallen. They started with  the cross, then the lemon squeezer hat, Picture of Mary, rosemary, the flag and the poppies. After room 8 finished their speeches room 7 said five prayers.

Crosses with the names of fallen soldiers were brought up by students from each class and stuck into the ground in rows. Room 8 then brought up poppies that we had made and stuck them in the ground in between the crosses. We finished with the sign of the cross and then sang the National Anthem.
